Frequently asked questions.

Do I need regular maintenance on my Natural Gas or Propane Fireplace?

Yes, Annual Maintenance of your gas fireplace unit keeps your heating appliance running at peak performance and ensures a longer life span of your gas components and unit. It also helps reduce costly repairs, energy savings and the inconvenience of breakdowns during the cold winter months.

How often should I service my gas or propane fireplace unit?

At least once a year. This will save you money over the life span of the unit by finding and addressing potential issues sooner and keep your unit working safely and efficiently.

What happens if my pilot light goes out?

If your pilot light goes out, this does not mean your unit is not performing properly or you have a gas leak. The solution could be as easy as just relighting the pilot. However, you should have a licensed gas technician diagnose your unit. Call us to set up an appointment to service your unit to ensure proper performance.

Why does my gas fireplace insert smell like burning plastic?

Normally on a new insert it takes 6 - 8 hours of continuous use to sweat off shipping oils off the unit.  On older units this usually means the unit needs to be thoroughly cleaned and serviced.  Call us today to schedule an appointment for your  annual maintenance.

Why does the glass on my gas fireplace insert get cloudy or black over time?

Byproducts of using your gas fireplace stick to the inside of the glass and slowly cover the glass with a thin white film. If you have soot or a black film on your glass you could have a venting problem or the logs are misplaced in the unit. Call us to set up an appointment for service.
